So, yesterday I had a really fun chat about the Love Alway series with authors Nia Forrester and Tia Kelly. If you missed it, no worries, you can check out the chat by clicking here. I also shared an excerpt from Less Than Forever. I still don't have an exact release date but I'm still hoping for a late spring/early summer release. In the meantime, hope you enjoy this short, unedited teaser! :: From Less Than Forever, Coming Soon “I need you to come over.” Dorian didn’t even bother with a greeting and Raven frowned as she slid into her hot car, immediately sticking the key in the ignition to let down the windows. “What?” she asked, holding the phone between her shoulder and ear. She turned the air conditioner on full blast. “I need you to come over,” he repeated gruffly. “I’m sick.” She rolled her eyes, leaning back against her car seat as she inhaled, trying to find patience. The sound of his voice had her on edge, like the cells in her body were wired to go berserk whenever Dorian was around now, or even from just the sound of his bass voice. “I can’t. I have plans,” she answered. “So change them.” “No.” She wrinkled her brow as she stared out over the lot, watching a few teachers and kids amble toward various cars. “What are you doing that’s more important?” he asked skeptically, his voice rough. She sighed, closing her eyes as she hit the button to roll up the windows now that the car was adequately cooled. “I have a date, if you must know.” “With Dudley?” “Who?” she asked, knowing full well he was talking about Shad. He fell silent for a long minute and she furrowed her brow again, pushing the car into drive. “Hello?” she said, as she wheeled her way through the school’s small parking lot. “Yeah.” It sounded like he’d fallen asleep that quickly. His baritone was gruff and groggy. She frowned, starting to get a little worried. “You really sound like crap, man,” she observed, as pulled out of the lot and onto the street. “I’m sick,” he repeated. “Come over. I need you, Chipmunk.” She sighed again, automatically softening at his word choice. He was talking to her as if their conversation in the kitchen never even happened and she didn’t know whether to feel grateful or annoyed. They hadn’t spoken at all in the week that had passed. Maybe the fact that he was so comfortable calling her and making demands was a weird sign that things were getting back on track for them. “So you’re coming?” “No, Dorian.” She shook her head as she stopped at a red light. “Where’s Nathan?” “He’s a dude,” he answered weakly as if that explained everything. “Um, so?” “So that’s not happening. He’s at Selena’s anyway.” “Well, why don’t you call your girl, Shannon?” She tried to keep the jealousy out of her voice when she said it but was pretty sure she’d failed. “I told you, you’re my girl,” he said. She bit her lip, barely holding in a smile. God, he was infuriating. “I’m being serious, Dorian.” “You’re not my girl any more?” He was beginning to sound a little incoherent and she frowned, biting the inside of her lip worriedly. “Besides, I don’t want her. I only want you.” Once again, his word choice had her heart racing and she closed her eyes briefly opening them again just as the light turned green. “Please, Chipmunk?” he asked after a minute of her silence. “Dorian…” she started, with a sigh. She rested her elbow on her car door as she drove with one hand, picking at a strand of her curly hair, debating. “I’m really messed up over here.” “Okay, okay,” she said resignedly, busting a U-Turn at the intersection, heading in the direction of his apartment. Men were such babies when they were sick. But Dorian, she knew from experience, took it to another level. “I’m on the way. What do you need me to bring?” “I dunno, nothing… Just you.” Once again, his words were almost disjointed and he sounded really out of it. “Just bring you, Raven,” he said again. She smiled in spite of herself.

WOW! Both of you are newly discovered authors and I read about 100 books per year. I was just having a conversation with a good "book" friend" of mine and I could not stop singing your praises... The breath of fresh air that you both have given me as a reader is indescribable. I was in a rut for A LONG TIME and actually lowered my goodreads reading goal from 101 to 30 books or so because everything I was reading was not holding my attention. Not only that..... I have honestly fallen in love with books and words again! So thank you and I look forward to reading more from each of you!
